The planned
re-launch of the Cork to Swansea ferry has been postponed for around
a week due to technical difficulties. Fastnet Line's MV Julia was due
to start it's new service across the Irish Sea on March 1st 2010
after an extensive refit at the Harris Pye dockyard in Swansea. But a
delay in completing the necessary paperwork for issue of the
Passenger Ship Safety Certificate has resulted in the launch day
being put back a few days.
The ship
finally received it's safety certificate on March 4th and is expected
to commence sailing from Cork to Swansea once final surveys are
completed over the following few days.
Fastnet Line
apologised for the delay and said any passenger booked on a cancelled
sailing will be offered alternative sailing dates or a full refund.
They will also receive a 50% discount when they next book with
Fastnet Line.
